about

Elizabeth Prenger paints the fleeting emotions inspired by nature, moments that linger long after they pass.

Artist Bio

I’m Lizzy, an oil painter drawn to light, water, & the Pacific Northwest coast, places that feel like home. Waves fascinate me: their power, the way they command your attention, how they can be both untamed & tender all at once.

Working in an emotional, atmospheric realism, I return often to the shoreline & to the language of the sea. These paintings are less about capturing a perfect scene & more about the intimate experience of standing at the water’s edge, absorbed in thought, letting the movement of the ocean mirror something internal.

My practice comes from a quiet, introspective place. I listen to music while I paint, think deeply, & feel everything. The brushwork is cathartic for me; it’s where I work through resilience, reinvention, & finding beauty even in life’s most difficult seasons.

Having lived in Canada, the US, & Australia, I have carried different versions of myself across coastlines. Over the years, painting has remained the constant. It is how I make sense of the world around me.

I hope when you see my paintings, something in them resonates. That you feel a conversation between us, between what I’ve experienced & what you carry with you, too.
